title: Link Stripe
description: Connect Stripe to take card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay tips - with payouts straight to your bank.
---

Stripe is the processor we recommend: cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, and payouts straight to your bank. The only cost is a per-tip fee: Stripe's transaction fee passed on at cost, plus TipPage's own share of at most 1% + 3p - [see the rates](/payments/getting-paid#fees). Tippers only ever see TipPage on their statement - [your name and address stay private](/privacy), in a way PayPal can't match.

1. **Open Settings, Payments**

In the dashboard, go to **Settings** and pick the **Payments** tab. You'll see the Stripe panel with a **Connect with Stripe** button.

2. **Connect with Stripe**

Click it and you'll be sent to Stripe to set up your account. Stripe handles this bit - it asks for your details, identity verification, and the bank account your payouts should go to. If you already have a Stripe account, you can use that.

3. **Finish and come back**

When Stripe's done with you, you're sent back to the dashboard. The Stripe panel now shows your account as connected.

:::warning[Seeing "Onboarding incomplete"?]
Stripe needs both charges and payouts enabled before tips can flow. If you skipped a step (usually identity verification or bank details), the panel shows "Onboarding incomplete - finish in Stripe to start taking tips" with a **Complete setup** button. Click it to pick up where you left off.

## While you're on the Payments tab

Set your **Amounts** at the top:

- **Currency** - what viewers tip in.
- **Minimum** - the smallest tip you'll accept. Default is 2.00. Smaller tips are refused. There's a floor of one unit of your currency (£1, €1, $1 - higher where a unit is worth less, like ¥150 or 10 kr): below that your card processor won't take the payment at all, and the fixed part of the processing fee would leave you nothing.
- **Starts at** - what the amount box is pre-filled with. Tippers can change it. Leave blank to start at your minimum.
- **Maximum** - the largest tip you'll accept. Leave blank for no limit (TipPage caps every tip at 1,000,000 regardless).
- **Preset buttons** - up to 5 one-tap amounts shown above the amount box, plus an "Other" button that focuses the box. Switch them off to show just the box.

Then **Message**:

- **Max message length** - up to 255 characters.

And **Donor identity**, if you want tips tied to real Twitch or Kick accounts:

- **Require sign-in to tip** - the tip form stays locked until the viewer signs in with Twitch or Kick. A strong lever against anonymous [ban evasion](/moderation/bans-and-refunds#bans-follow-the-person-not-the-card).
- **Use the donor's account name** - the tip's name comes from the Twitch or Kick account the viewer signed in with; the name field disappears from the form.

Hit **Save changes** when you're done.

## Disconnecting

**Disconnect** in the Stripe panel unlinks the account. If you also have PayPal connected, tips switch over to that; if not, tipping is off until you connect something.
